DeAgostini Falcon Cockpit Photoetch Set

Sorry but this item is currently unavailable. Please check back at a later stage.

 Product Description

Enhance and correct the detail of the DeAgostini Millennium Falcon’s cockpit.

This photoetch set is designed so that all areas can be lit, not just the rear walls as done with the kit. The entire front control console is replaced by one in the correct shape and size.

ALPS printed decals include all buttons and proper panel colors to help the interior be more visible. The decals include metallic inks for extra detail as well as true white for color fidelity and ease of painting.

Some modification skills are necessary to mount the parts.

* Future releases planned for other areas of the model as DeAgostini ships more installments. Further information available at buildMillenniumFalcon.com.

  1. Paragraphics DeAgostini Falcon Cockpit etch set

Posted by Al Dewar on 10th Jan 2016

I was expecting this to be trickier than it was. Having said that if I had one criticism it would be the instructions relating to the modifications needed to the original cockpit and cockpit tube DA parts rather than the ones to do with the brass. I found an online blog that showed the process and rather than faff with cutting the original plastics to bits I remade the whole back wall component with a 3D print ... But I think trimming out all the plastic is the trickiest part as I said.
In regard to the brass ... Piece of cake ... So simple it only really needs basic skills though I question the point of putting raised/etched details on some of the parts that are subsequently covered up by decals.
That's my final minor gripe The decals need trimmed around the edges when dry with a scalpel otherwise they carry a lot of extra film .. And even that's not consistent. So my advice would be pre it all decals with a sharp scalpel before actually cutting the decals apart on the sheet ... It makes getting rid of these extra bits of film very easy. The end result looks fabulous though so this the 5 stars rating.
Final point ... Modelkitworld. Good pricing on this kit versus the EBay sharks .... Good online payment and good and timely despatch out in the post. Five stars there as well!
